Reiki Coverage
Good News from the NHPC:
Reiki clients who have coverage for Reiki services in their plans/accounts with the above insurance companies may have their claims reimbursed. We recommend that clients confirm their coverage with their plan/account administrator before submitting claims for Reiki services.
If your benefit plan does not cover a holistic health practice that you find effective, ask your insurance provider to include it in your coverage. This supports the recognition of holistic therapies for the health benefits they provide and promotes robust insurance coverage.
When you contact your insurance company, include the following information:
what practice(s) do you want to be added to your coverage
how this practice addresses any ailments or injuries you have
how past/current treatments improved your overall work performance or well-being
The NHPC has prepared a coverage request letter for some holistic health practices that you can send to your insurance provider.
If you are an ASEBP employee, you must email your request to benefits@asebp.ca. All other clients should email their plan administrator.
Alternatively, you can provide the downloadable PDF coverage request letter to fill out and submit to the appropriate department for consideration.
Please note that the NHPC contacted all insurance companies who are Canadian Life & Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) members regarding their Reiki coverage. However, it is possible there are some insurers who are not listed in this communication or that the NHPC are not aware of them at this time.
